Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary is an intellectually rigorous, theologically astute, local church-oriented ministry staffed by capable and caring servants of the Lord. The M.Div. program has served me well both in its breadth and depth.
I praise the Lord all the time for the quality education I received at DBTS. The Lord used my professors and course work to provide me with a strong exegetical, theological, and philosophical foundation for the varied demands of pastoral ministry. Every pastor will benefit from a seminary education, and I don’t know of a better seminary to train for pastoral ministry than DBTS.
As a young assistant pastor, I realized that I needed basic tools if I was to lead properly in Christ’s church. I didn’t need the latest fad in ministry methodology. I needed languages and solid exegetical skills. I needed robust theology. And I wanted this in the context of emphasis on ministry in the local church. DBTS provided exactly what I needed, and in a deeper way than I even knew I needed.
DBTS gave me sound theology and a biblical philosophy of ministry that has profoundly shaped my life and service in the Lord’s church.
In addition to the thorough and biblically-grounded instruction I received in the classroom, my time at DBTS taught me the value of rigorous study and provided me with the tools to continue learning on my own after graduation.
