DBTS Th.M. Seminars Available Remotely

by | Jan 1, 2024 | Announcements

Looking for a New Year’s resolution? Consider working towards a Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree at DBTS. As described in our catalog, the Th.M. is “offered for those desiring advanced training beyond the Master of Divinity level.” It is designed for both pastors seeking more advanced education and anyone planning to do Ph.D. work. The Th.M. degree may be pursued in residence, but may also be completely done by joining classes remotely via Zoom.

A key component of the Th.M. program is a seminar each semester, which focuses on advanced reading in a particular subject that leads to student-led discussions in a format similar to what students would see if they were to go on for a Ph.D. This coming spring, the Th.M. seminar in advanced hermeneutics will be led by the seminary dean, Ben Edwards, and myself. This seminar will examine the various recent approaches that can be broadly labeled as theological interpretation of Scripture (TIS). The complete reading list may be found here.

If you are interested in the Th.M. program at DBTS or have questions about this particular seminar, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us here. You can also begin a free application here.
