Summer Seminar: Biblical Counseling and Abuse

We are excited to welcome Dr. Ernie Baker on August 22, 2023, as he presents a seminar on Biblical Counseling and Abuse.

The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors is producing a series of affirmations and denials about domestic abuse and providing a framework to help counselors discern if abuse is taking place and to help counselors know how to report and handle counseling cases involving abuse.

As someone who worked on producing these resources, we are thankful that Dr. Baker will be able to go into more depth on some of these matters and help us understand the reasoning and study behind them.

Dr. Baker serves at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL as Pastor of Counseling and Discipleship. He has been in ministry for 41 years and is the author of Marry Wisely, Marry Well: A Blueprint for Personal Preparation and Help! I’m in a Conflict. He is a fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and a certified conciliator with The Institute for Christian Conciliation.
