DBTS 2020 Graduate: Timothy Schlater

by | May 21, 2020 | Articles

Since we were not able to hold our commencement this year at DBTS, we are highlighting one of our graduates each day. Today we would like to recognize Timothy Schlater.

Tim was born in Bucks County, PA, in 1986, the son of Robert and Judith Schlater. When he was 5 years old, after hearing his father explain the gospel, he repented of his sins and put his trust in Christ. Tim graduated in 2012 from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Music in Church Music.

At DBTS, we recognize that our students could not get through their programs without the faithful and loving help and support of their wives, especially, and their family. Tim is married to the former Stephanie Williams of Pinckney, MI, and they have one son, Asa.

Tim is a member of Inter-City Baptist Church, where he has been involved in several ministries, including teaching in the children’s ministries, helping with churchwide outreach events, working on the AV team, doing substitute teaching in Adult Bible studies, and helping in several aspects of the music ministry of the church: choir, orchestra, accompanying, and occasionally leading congregational worship.

I personally, am thankful for the humility and teachability that Tim has exhibited in the seminary and in the church. After graduation, Tim plans to continue to serve at Inter-City Baptist Church.
