Support DBTS on #GivingTuesday

A message from Dr. Doran:

Dear Friend of DBTS,

Happy Thanksgiving! God has been gracious to us and is worthy of every bit of thanks, and more, that He receives. I am looking forward to a fun and refreshing time with family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, then leaving that night for Zambia to speak next week in a Leadership Conference. I love the work God is doing there, but am especially looking forward to spending time with two of our seminary graduates, Kevin Sherman and Hector Garcia, who serve there.

So, my Thanksgiving Day will bring multiple reminders of how much God has and is using DBTS to advance the gospel around the globe. I—a DBTS grad—am nearing the completion of 30 years serving at DBTS.  I will have lunch with a DBTS grad who is planting a church (who happens to be my son) and then travel to see two DBTS grads serving in Zambia, as well as spend time with the family of a current DBTS student preparing for missions. Praise God!

I am something of a Luddite (i.e., an anti-techie), so I’m a little slow on that front, but recently became aware of an online phenomenon called Giving Tuesday. Apparently, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a major day for non-profit organizations to raise money for their work. It might be a way for folks for who binged on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to do something to offset the consumerism of those days! Whatever the reason, I wondered if it might be an opportunity for us to raise some money for DBTS. And, to be candid, I was looking for help in this area because we are still $15K short of my goal for 2018.

I’ve never done a social-media driven fundraising effort, so I am not very smooth about it! I hope you’ll excuse my lack of sophistication and consider donating to the work God is doing at and through DBTS. I’d love to reach that goal and it would be a welcome, encouraging help to the work. Please help us train the next generation of gospel preachers!

For the sake of His name,

David M. Doran
President
