Summer 2017 Class Schedule – Now Available

DBTS is offering three courses this summer in a module format. The following is a list of which courses will be offered, the weeks involved, and the professors who will teach.

First Session: May 16–26 (8:00–11:50 AM)

NT734    Greek Exegesis of 1 Thessalonians (2 hours), Dr. Compton
Room 101

An exegesis of 1 Thessalonians using a grammatical-historical hermeneutic. Attention is given to the translation, interpretation, and theology of the epistle. The intent is to identify the author’s theme, trace the argument, and apply the message of the letter to the church.

MI535    Cross-Cultural Church Planting (2 hours), Missions Director

An analysis of biblical principles and effective strategies for church planting and development in a cross-cultural setting. Emphasis is placed on methods for starting churches committed to church planting. It also includes a study of practical and effective steps and models.

PT527     Marriage & Family Counseling (2 hours), Dr. Doran
Room 101

An examination of specific topics related to marriage and family. Topics covered include the purpose of marriage, divorce and remarriage, roles of husband and wife, physical intimacy within marriage, communication and conflict resolution, spouse and child abuse, stewardship of time and priorities, preventing adultery and rebuilding after it, parenting, and family counseling.
