DBTS 2020 Graduate: Alex Francia

Posted By

Since we were not able to hold our commencement this year at DBTS, we are highlighting one of our graduates each day. Today we would like to recognize Alex Francia.

Alex was born in Bethesda, MD, in 1991, the son of Gabriel Lifschitz and Maria Francia. He trusted in Christ at the age of 21 at Palmetto Baptist Church in Powdersville, SC. Alex graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2011 with an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies and from Bob Jones University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

At DBTS, we recognize that our students could not get through their programs without the faithful and loving help and support of their wives, especially, and their family. Alex is married to the former Valerie Myers of Greenville, SC, and they have one daughter, Emma.

Alex is a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hamtramck, MI, where he has been involved in regular gospel outreach through the church’s park ministry as well as preaching and teaching regularly at the church. While in seminary, he served as vice president of the student body.

I, personally, am thankful for the zeal for excellence that Alex has shown in his studies. He has an article published in the most recent edition of the Detroit Baptist Seminary Journal, entitled: “Wrong Then, Wrong Now? A Refutation of Past Arguments Against Interracial Marriage in Light of the LGBT Revolution.”  Alex is graduating with honors, summa cum laude, with a 3.89 GPA.
